let’s harmonize

maybe if you loved
a little harder and i
loved a little smarter,
maybe we wouldn’t have
to sit down so seriously
and talk about such
tiring things. you once
saw my tragedy and
named it beauty; i saw the
opposite–i saw a lost soul
and built it a home between
the valley of my thighs. you
shouldn’t have given up
and i shouldn’t have judged
you guilty before you proved
yourself to be different from
the rest. so, let’s harmonize the
divorce of cleaved flesh, this
spiral of misplaced moans
and meet at your house, between the sheets, you on your knees,
your neighbors sighing as they
hearing my screams…
