The sunset kisses the horizon
And bisects, dual colored:
Pink and gold, threaded boldly
With gold-like omnipotence.
Then the sky cracks like an Easter egg;
The damning sound thunderous
To all but the deaf ears that follow sheepishly along.
Red leaking from the jagged edges
And black dyes, staining the pretty stratosphere.
Fragments scatter across the gleaming glade,
Slicing the fragile blades
And crushing the weeping willows-
Shattering the world before undeveloped,
Cruel eyes!
Deliverance has come.
