Suspended in a Daydream

Suspended in a Daydream

asleep for so long,
i need to feel awake.

distanced from emotions, now i am in constant wake.

drifting–not really here but corporeal,
absent yet present, shifting the eddies
of lights and flames; what will set me ablaze?

it could be you–you, who
shies from temptation and prefers the slow lane.

a knight, a soldier,
wounded but crawling towards a haven far from this wretched place–find solace with me, with us, with this feeling
of always being suspended in a daydream.
