My future lies out in front of me,
A map work of stars
That glitter and sparkle tauntingly-
Different perilous routes, risky aspirations, hardened journeys
awaiting for me, me, me-
A pretty girl unrooted from
The man-made earth-
Gravity stalls and stunts my growth-
My leaps falter as mountains crumble,
Volcanos burp waste
And the ozone sizzles with
Each lap of sulfuric waves.
A green sea littered with finless fish,
My breathes are quick and bird-like
As I gasp and lick-
Hope is for the dreamers
Who ponder the world away.
Dreams are meant to be temporary,
Images slip as eyelids flutter,
A lovers kiss, a fantom limb
That you can never shake.
Love is for the young
Who watch with undeveloped eyes
As the earth cracks and bleeds
And a bat brutally barks in
The pink, morning rays.
But for a girl like me,
There might be a chance,
A bud of determination,
Hungrily suckling at the droplets
Of shame and the blood of innocents
But, but-
But as the sky lightens
A becoming shade of pink and gold,
My stars fade far away-
