Mirage

it was paradise
when i shut my eyes.
salt and sand clinging to
my skin, the heat mesmerized you,
the hush of passion and
the spritz of lime clung
to your eyes like a mirage.
the waves stripped away
the pretense: you reeled me in
and i eagerly took the bait. i was
a catch, a prize you splayed
open like a delicacy. your hands
were impatient on me, but i never minded.
