you should have

you should have held me close,
before i learned how to fly.
i am gone now, dreaming
in the sky. every cloud greets
me with easy smiles and riddles
both curious and sly. every bird
swims with me, soaring through
riptides and horizons dyed in
sienna and goldenrod. you were
foolish to love me and let me go.
you pushed me; awed me with
the wildness kindred and found.
you were unprepared, for a girl
whose wings, are saturated with sound.🌸✨💕
