the birds bid me farewell; i am sad to see them go. the trees
knew me the longest; they were present for my sorrow.
when i fell to my knees, night after confusing knight,
the leaves became my home. my safe haven. my slice of heaven when home no longer felt like home.
i made friends with the flowers, i danced with the bumblebees.
i traded secrets for fruits sticky like candy.
but it is time for this seedling to finally let go.
you’ve given me homage. you’ve seen me at my smallest,
let me wander in the cold. i thank you for your lessons, i am thankful for your
second, third, no, forth chances. your hard work has not gone unnoticed.
