Awhile ago,
I came across this book called Arsen–
The protagonist was married to Prince Charming,
Living in Westchester, shopping at Barneys–
but underneath the porclean beauty
of her vulnerable jade green eyes–
she was irreversibly broken.
…
With each miscarriage,
a piece of her broke off–
the pressure of becoming a mother–
feeling whole and normal shattered her.
She wanted to feel alive again–
to not longer feel the relentless cold
and the black abyss of numbness,
in a world where the panacea for
every heartbreak is–
“Everything will be all right”
…
But, then came Arsen.
He set her aflame–
challenged her to become more,
drugged her with his touch,
seduced with his eyes and lips,
claimed her–
found solstice in her shattered state–
a younger man, passion over matter–
…
They came together in this mad harmony,
where they only saw each other
and checked out to cloud nine–
leaving her husband and family behind…
